Double Cola

I ran across this on the side of an old country store in Southwest Virginia.  I did a little research (very little) and found that the Good Grape Company was founded in Chattanooga in 1922 to market a grape soda, naturally.  In 1924, a product called Marvel Cola was deployed and the company became the Seminole Flavor Company.  They continued to tinker with the formula and the name (it was Jumbo Cola for a while) until 1933 when it officially became Double Cola.  Its bottle size, 12 ounces, was twice the size of the standard cola bottle at the time.  Double Cola is still being produced.

This Red Rock Cola sign was overpainted with a Pepsi sign, but has finally shown through again.  Red Rock Cola originated in Atlanta in 1885, but was out of business by 1950.  I understand that it has been revived as a brand of ginger ale and cola.
